The Land of the Celts is
The Land of the Celts is located in the Iron Mountains in Nasavrky and the surrounding area. It is a place with beautiful scenery and a history that dates back to Celtic settlements. The Land of the Celts is a nonprofit project of the Boii Association and oversees public activities aimed at showcasing the local Celtic settlements.
The centerpiece of the Land of the Celts is the Celtic open-air museum.
Founded in 2002, the Boii Association has become a key driving force in preserving the Celtic heritage in the Iron Mountains region. It established the first nature trail here, set up a Celtic museum exhibition at the castle, and provides education on Celtic cultural heritage. The Boii Association’s most ambitious undertaking is the construction of a Celtic oppidum, the cornerstone of which was laid on June 7, 2011. The project to build the Celtic open-air museum has been fraught with difficulties; but thanks to the unwavering enthusiasm and tenacity of (not only) the association’s members, they have succeeded in enriching the Železné Hory region with an exceptional recreation of a Celtic oppidum, which is now the largest in Europe in terms of size and unique design.

Along with caring for the environment, the power of interpersonal cooperation and community is the most pressing and significant issue in the context of today’s global events,” concludes Lukáš Blažek.
