Apple Harvest + Honey Cider

Come give thanks for the harvest and sample delicacies made from apples and other fall fruits.

There will also be honey, mead, and other bee products.

At the oppidum, you’ll be able to meet Celts engaged in activities associated with the fall season, particularly apple processing: they’ll be drying apple chips, making apple jam, pressing cider… There will also be tastings of apple and honey treats.

We’ll be holding a baking contest again this year: this time for the best honey-apple cake. The rules are simple: bake a cake (or other dessert) from scratch, with apples and honey as the main ingredients. The other ingredients are up to the bakers’ imagination and taste. Bring your pie to the collection point at the oppidum by 10:30 a.m. or 2:00 p.m.—don’t forget to include a printed or handwritten recipe and your contact information. The cakes will be on display during these two time slots, followed by a public tasting and voting session. The winners will be announced in the afternoon after both rounds have concluded. The winners can look forward to a nice prize!
