Apple Harvest

Join us in giving thanks for this year’s harvest and come taste traditional and unique treats made from apples and other fall fruits. We’ll be pressing apple juice, baking pies, making apple jam, drying apple chips like our ancestors did, and much more.
Apple Harvest—a celebration of fall in the Land of the Celts!
We invite you to another event at the Celtic open-air museum in Nasavrky, taking place on Saturday, September 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Celebrate the autumn equinox and the apple harvest with us.
What can you look forward to?
- Apple cider pressing, apple jam making, and apple chip drying—demonstrations of traditional apple processing methods that you can try for yourself.
- Creative workshops—make your own fall decorations.
- Best Apple Pie Contest—show off your baking skills and family recipe! Bring your pie and recipe to the open-air museum either by 11:00 a.m. or for the “second” round by 2:00 p.m.—both rounds will feature tastings and public voting. Every baker who brings a pie will receive a small glass of mead for free as a reward. We’ll announce the winner in the afternoon. The contest rules are simple: the cake, bun, pastry, or baked good must be your own creation and must contain apples. The rest is up to your imagination and taste!
- A program about honey and bees—learn interesting facts about their lives and their importance to nature.
Come with your family and friends to soak up the autumn atmosphere and enjoy a day full of fun, flavors, and time-honored traditions.
